City of Pittsburgh Transfer Tax Increase

The City of Pittsburgh voted to increase the real estate transfer tax to 4.5% and eventually to a total of 5% effective February 1st 2018.   This is only in the city and not other municipalities in Allegheny County.   http://www.post-gazette.com/local/city/2017/12/19/Pittsburgh-City-Council-realty-transfer-tax-increase-affordable-housing-trust-fund-Housing-Opportunity-Fund-Pittsburgh-United/stories/201712190228

Selling your home in the Winter

With frigid temperatures, it is highly advisable to have a plumber winterize your vacant property.   It is also advisable to hire a professional to keep the sidewalks clear of snow and ice.   Additionally, we suggest having exterior lights on at night and making sure that all of the interior light bulbs are up to date so that the house is as light and bright as possible for evening showings.
