Spring is Coming!


 
Daylight Savings:  Sunday March 10th is Daylight Savings, which gives us all an extra hour of daylight for evening home viewings. 

Spring Cleaning and Recycling:
We found a handy website that can text or email you reminders for recycling and yard debris pickup days in the City of Pittsburgh:    https://pgh.st

Many of the boroughs stopped recycling glass.   PRC is offering FREE glass recycling at various pop up locations this Spring and Summer.

Interest Rates

The current 30 year fixed rate is around 4.25%, which is much lower than 3 months ago when rates were over 5%.   This is good news for people both buying and selling a home.

Refinancing:
The general rule about refinancing your home is that you should be able to reduce your rate by 1% and that you plan to stay in your home for at least 3 more years.    We are happy to give recommendations for lenders who can assist you with this.  This could be a good long term savings on your mortgage.

Pre-payment calculators:
Whether you have a 15 or a 30 year loan, a small extra payment every month could reduce your total interest payments significantly.   Try plugging numbers into this calculator to see what works for you.
